Cezar is a Founding Partner of SARMIS Capital. He sits in the Investment Committee and the Management Committee, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer, being responsible for the full investment cycle. He is an appointed Board member of Corporate Office Solutions (COS), Smart ID Technology and BMF Grup.

Cezar has over 20 years work experience, out of which the vast majority in Private Equity and Investment Banking, with a significant focus in Romania/CEE. Before co-founding SARMIS, he served as Senior Partner and Head of Romania for Abris Capital Partners, being a member of the Investment Committee and Management Committee, responsible for deal sourcing, execution and monitoring in South Central Europe. As Board Chairman and Member of the Supervisory Board for various portfolio companies directly acquired and expanded under his leadership (Cargus, Urgent Curier, Pehart Group, Green Group, among others), he helped them reach a joint yearly turnover of over €350m upon his departure, some expanding over five fold over his tenure and becoming local and regional champions.

Before Abris, Cezar served as an investment professional with Bridgepoint Capital for over 4 years, having worked on a multitude of private equity transactions across Europe covering healthcare, consumer, business services, media and telecom, industrials and financial services. Before Bridgepoint, he was part of the M&A team at Nomura Investment Bank, covering the Central and South Eastern Europe region and being in-charge of the Romanian market. He started his career with Arthur Andersen in Romania, followed by 3 years with PwC in the UK.

Cezar is a member of YPO. He holds an MBA degree with triple major in Finance, Marketing and Operations from Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania (USA), and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s prestigious OPM (Owner / President Management) program. He speaks fluent Romanian, English and French. 

Viorel is a Founding Partner of SARMIS Capital. He sits in the Investment Committee and the Management Committee, and serves as the Chief Operating Officer. He is actively involved in deal sourcing, analysis and monitoring, as well as being responsible for business development and investor relations. He is an appointed Board member of Corporate Office Solutions (COS), Smart ID Technology and BMF Grup.

Viorel has close to 20 years of international financial, commercial and operational experience at blue-chip companies, with the majority on the buy-side, having committed over $5bn in or alongside world-class managers and closed more than 35 deals worth in excess of $20bn, across sectors and geographies, in Private Equity, Private Debt (performing, stressed and distressed), M&A and Leverage Finance roles. Notable GP relationships include Apollo, Ares, Blackstone/GSO, Carlyle, Cerberus, CVC, EQT, Mid Europa, MSD, KKR, Permira, TDR, among others.

Before co-founding SARMIS, he was a Senior Investment Manager in the Private Equities Department at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), managing a portfolio of c.$9bn across private equity and private debt / special situations, in both direct co-investments and funds. He was responsible for CEE and was an appointed member of numerous Advisory Boards and Investment Committees. Viorel started his career at PwC UK (Business Advisory Services and Transaction Services), followed by UBS UK (M&A and Leveraged Finance) and Cohen & Company UK (M&A, buy-out investing and structured finance).

Viorel is a member of YPO and is currently enrolled in Harvard Business School’s OPM (Owner/President Management) program. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD (France and Singapore) and a BSc (Honours) in Business Administration from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (Romania) and University of Barcelona (Spain). He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), and speaks fluent Romanian, English, Spanish and French.

Cătălin is a Founding Partner of SARMIS Capital. He sits in the Investment Committee and the Management Committee, and serves as the General Counsel / Chief Compliance Officer, being responsible for all the legal aspects of transactions and of the firm. 

Cătălin has over 20 years of M&A, Corporate and Commercial experience, in Magic Circle and Big4 affiliated law firms, including as Head of Legal for various PE portfolio companies. He has been involved in numerous M&A transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) and corporate restructuring projects, for clients including private equity funds, strategic investors and private individuals. Major projects include: complex restructurings of certain group companies, advice on the on-going aspects of the joint-venture cooperation with the various local partners, add-on acquisitions, financing/re-financing operations, implementation of compliance projects (e.g. GDPR, compliance, anti-bribery and money laundering).

Cătălin holds an LLB, Faculty of Law from the University of Bucharest (Romania); LLM in Corporate and Securities, Faculty of Law from the University College London (UK); PhD (Corporate Law) from the “Titu Maiorescu” University, Bucharest (Romania). He is a member of the Bucharest Bar and speaks fluent Romanian and English.

Bogdan is a Founding Partner of SARMIS Capital. He sits in the Investment Committee and the Management Committee, and serves as the Chief Financial Officer, in addition to being closely involved in the deal analysis and monitoring. He is an appointed Board member of BMF Grup. 

Bogdan has over 20 years of consulting experience, out of which 16 years with PwC and 13 years of dedicated deal advisory roles (due diligence and other deal services). In those roles he has been involved in over 150 advisory projects, out of which 17 closed PE-related deals totalling over €1.0bn.

Bogdan holds a BSc in International Trade from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (Romania) and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA UK) and a member of the Romanian Chamber of Financial Auditors. He speaks fluent Romanian and English.

Mădălina joined SARMIS Capital in November 2020 and is responsible for the entire investment cycle.

Mădălina had worked for 6 years in investment banking, most recently as an Associate with Macquarie Capital in London advising major infrastructure funds such as MIRA, AusSuper and 3i on several buy-side transactions. Prior to that, Mădălina was an Associate at Citi in its London and New York offices, covering healthcare, consumer, business services, telecom and industrials and advising large corporates such as GSK, Sodexo, Siemens Gamesa and AT&T on major M&A transactions and financial strategy.

Mădălina holds a MSc from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, with a major in Business Economics and Finance. She speaks fluent Romanian and English.

Luca joined SARMIS Capital in January 2022 and has responsibilities across the investment cycle.

Luca had worked for 8 years in M&A and corporate finance, out of which 4 years as a Deloitte financial advisory professional, being involved in numerous projects (such as business valuation, capital raising, preparation of bespoke financial models) for clients including private equity funds, financial institutions and strategic investors. Prior to that, Luca was an investment analyst at Prime Kapital, an integrated real estate developer, investor and operator, where he was involved predominantly in early investment cycle phases such as fundraising, investment screening and analysis.

Luca is a CFA charterholder and has a MSc from Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands, with a major in Finance and Investments. He speaks fluent Romanian and English.

Petru joined SARMIS Capital in January 2022 and has responsibilities across the investment cycle.

Petru had worked for 7 years in finance and investing, most recently as an Associate Banker with the Financial Institutions Group at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), being involved in debt and equity transactions with CEE based financial institutions. Prior to that, he worked with Big4 firms in financial advisory and consulting roles, in Romania and Luxembourg.

Petru is a CFA charterholder and has a MSc from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, with a major in Accountancy and Control. He speaks fluent Romanian, English and German.

Dinu joined SARMIS Capital in September 2024 and has responsibilities across the investment cycle.

Previously, he successfully completed a couple of internships at SARMIS Capital, where he was involved in multiple transactions, across various stages, such as market research and company screening, preparation of financial models and business valuation. Prior to that, Dinu worked as a summer intern at companies across consulting, financial advisory and technology.

Dinu has a BSc from Università Bocconi in Italy, with a double major in Economics and Computer Science. He speaks fluent Romanian, English and Italian.

Irina joined SARMIS Capital in March 2020 and is responsible for all office matters, in addition to helping across the investment cycle.

Irina has 15+ years experience as an administrative professional with various roles in the Private Equity, Human Resources, Tourism and Education sectors. Prior to joining SARMIS, she worked for over 10 years with the Romanian branch of Abris Capital Partners, having coordinated all administrative matters of the local office, as well as being involved in all aspects of the deal process, from sourcing, structuring, financing, supervision and monitoring, to the ultimate exit.

Irina holds a BSocSc in Administrative Studies from the University of Bucharest (Romania) – Faculty of Business and Administration, as well as an LLB in Juridical Studies from “Nicolae Titulescu” University of Bucharest (Romania). She speaks fluent Romanian and English.
